Hey friend,
It’s been a while since I last showed up in your inbox. While I was away, I gave this newsletter a new name.
You may remember Letters for The Virtuous Creative. Now you’re reading Called with Open Tabs, the weekly newsletter from The Virtuous Creative’s website.
Every Tuesday, I’ll sort through business, faith, and culture news, then explain what each story means for Christian women building online.
Staying on top of business stuff has kept me especially busy lately, and my 7th business anniversary arrived right in the middle of it. I haven’t celebrated yet, but I plan to. I’m still deciding how I want to mark it.
Reaching year seven has me thinking about how much can change while you’re building. Your tools evolve, your priorities grow, and your work can take on a meaning you never expected.
Today’s open tabs explore each part.

Google recently announced a Search Console feature for Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Once it reaches your account, you’ll be able to see which Google searches lead people to your social posts, even without a website.
An older Reel could appear in search results weeks after it leaves the Instagram feed. Search data could also show you which topics are worth turning into an email, article, workshop, or offer.
Maybe your low-view Reel wasn’t a flop. Google was running late.

What happens when founders bring Jesus to Tech Week
A gathering during Boston Tech Week opened with Scripture, prayer, worship, and testimonies from Christian founders and investors.
Faith entered the room alongside conversations about technology, funding, and business growth. Attendees didn’t hide their beliefs to appear credible in a professional space.
Christian women building online face a similar question. How open can we be about Jesus while growing serious businesses?
Leukemia changed how Mary Sims viewed her calling
Mary Sims was growing her hairstyling business when an acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis changed her life overnight.
Cancer reshaped her relationship with ambition and gave her a personal understanding of medical hair loss. Mary now creates natural-looking wigs for women facing similar experiences and leads Eat Colorful, a faith-centered wellness initiative.
Her story shows how calling can grow in a direction you never planned.
